Warrington Wolves ignore Huddersfield's poor recent form

BOSS Tony Smith has dismissed any suggestions that Huddersfield’s recent form would mean that Wolves may be able to get away with some players missing through injury in Sunday’s Challenge Cip semi final.

That is despite the fact a full-strength Huddersfield side fell to an embarrassing 52-6 defeat to third-bottom Castleford Tigers on Sunday.

It was the latest poor result in a spell that has seen Nathan Brown’s boys win just one of eight matches since the end of May.

But rather than worry about how his opponents are likely to cope with their recent form, Smith has kept his eye firmly on his own players’ improvement.

“After the previous week we weren’t happy with the way we performed, but we are happy with the way we responded to that game and the way we performed on Monday,” he said.

“We will be looking to build on that and improve again when we head to Salford on Sunday.”
