Warrington Wolves second rower Trent Waterhouse among the doubts for Challenge Cup semi final against Huddersfield Giants
TRENT Waterhouse’s inclusion in Warrington Wolves’ Challenge Cup semi-final squad to face Huddersfield Giants is in the balance after having to go to hospital on Monday night.
The 31-year-old Aussie participated in Wolves’ bruising 15-6 defeat of Catalan Dragons on Monday, but Wolves boss Tony Smith has admitted that an injury the second rower sustained in that match has put his Challenge Cup place in doubt.
“Trent Waterhouse went to hospital with some bleeding in his eye,” said Smith, “so we will have to assess him later in the week.”
Smith also revealed that there will be a number of players assessed after suffering bumps and bruises ahead of the make-or-break meeting with Nathan Brown’s Giants at the Salford City Stadium on Sunday.
Hooker Michael Monaghan and loose forward Ben Harrison will both have to pass CogSport concussion tests later this week if they are to take any part in proceedings on Sunday, having both suffered head knocks against Trent Robinson’s Dragons in the Super League clash.
