Another eye operation the cause of Adrian Morley's absence from Warrington Wolves team against Hull

AN eye operation led to skipper Adrian Morley missing Warrington Wolves’ win against Hull FC.

But the prop forward will be back in the team for the trip to his hometown club Salford City Reds on Friday night.

Morley, who revealed earlier this week that a number of lingering injury issues had affected his form, was declared fit to play against the Airlie Birds but Wolves elected to err on the side of caution.

Wolves’ skipper had an eye operation last year when it was revealed his career was under threat.

“Moz had a little operation on his eye at the end of last week, a back-up operation on something he’s had before,” said Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith.

“It was the final stage of it and he was medically allowed to play against Hull but I kept him back another few days.

“It was the surgeon who said he could have played but his coach said he couldn’t.

“He’ll be back on Friday, either starting or on the bench unless he picks anything up between now and the match.”
