TONY Smith has indicated that Warrington Wolves could welcome several players back from long-term injury over the next couple of weeks, starting with the likely return of Stefan Ratchford against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on Sunday.

The 23-year-old has been out of action since being sidelined with a shoulder injury against Leeds Rhinos in March, but Smith admitted that Wolves fans could soon see the return of the versatile back after he and hard-hitting second row David Solomona were given the nod to resume full training by the club’s doctors.

Smith revealed that Solomona could still be a few weeks away from a return to the first team, but along with several of the youngsters that have been a regular fixture in Wolves’ squads recently, Ratchford is poised to make his Super League return at Belle Vue on Sunday, kick off 3.30pm.
