DISCIPLINARY NEWS: Player charged with Grade D offence DISCIPLINARY NEWS: Player charged with Grade D offence

BRADFORD Bulls player John Bateman will appear before the RFL Disciplinary Committee tomorrow after being charged with making a Grade D dangerous tackle during his side’s Carnegie Challenge Cup fifth round defeat at Warrington Wolves.

Bateman has been charged with executing a dangerous contact ‘crusher tackle’ on Warrington full-back Brett Hodgson in the 36th minute.

Bateman was charged by the RFL Match Review Panel, which felt he “forcefully applied unnecessary pressure to the head and/or neck and/or spinal column of his opponent so as to keep the tackled player at a disadvantage in or after the tackle.”

The suspension tariff for a player found guilty of a Grade D offence is three to four matches.

The Match Review Panel also issued a formal caution to Jamie Dallimore of Oldham for making dangerous contact with James Roby of St Helens in the 43rdminute of the Challenge Cup fifth round tie at Langtree Park last Friday.
