Tony Smith gives updates on Warrington Wolves' injured troops
12:00pm Thursday 26th April 2012 in Wolves news By Mike Parsons
WOLVES boss Tony Smith has given an injury update on David Solomona, Stefan Ratchford, Richie Myler and Rhys Evans this week.
Solomona broke his leg, dislocated his ankle and damaged ligaments in a training accident during the club’s pre-season camp in Australia, while Myler has strained his abductor, Ratchford is recovering from shoulder surgery and Evans is shaking off a foot problem.
Smith said: “Dave is doing well and I’d imagine he is five to six weeks away from a return.
“For a while it was dark and gloomy for him and he couldn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel but playing is starting to be reality to him again now and he’s taken good care of himself.
“Richie will probably be another three or four weeks and I’d suggest Stef will be back within a month.
“Rhys has had some issues with the bone in his foot that was injured last year.
“I’m told the bone has healed but some of the ligaments around the bone have been a bit aggravated with doing some hard work.
“It’s set him back a bit but we’re hopeful if he can overcome some of the soreness he will be able to return to playing shortly.”
