WARRINGTON Wolves chief executive looks back at the start of the season and ahead to April in his latest column

Performance wise we have shown some positive signs, particularly in defence.

How the players are working is a massive improvement in last year.

We have a much more resilient team and we are a much tougher team to break down.

With the ball we have shown glimpses but we need to improve. We have a new coaching structure and six new players so it will take time.

But this is not a transitional year and we expect to be up there challenging come the end of the season.

Off the field we have had fantastic attendances for the first three home games of the year.

We have sold out hospitality for every game which is is a first for The Halliwell Jones Stadium since it opened.

Membership wise, like for like we have gone slightly above last year which is a real positive.

We are continuing to try to do things differently here, a great example being the live Wolves which went well at the Wigan game for our junior members and some of the senior ones too!

We are always looking for different ideas to give our fans a fantastic experience.

One example if the away trip to Catalan.

The players are going there and back in the day again which has worked well for us in the past.

This year we are taking a select group of sponsors with us.

We are also running a new corporate package for away games which we started with 80 for the Widnes game.

Known as the Pack it offers a meal before the game and then travel to the stadium. So for the Salford game, we have 100 booked in for food at Cafe Football and then a coach to take people to the stadium.

It is all about building loyal support for our corporate partners.

After Easter we are playing Hull KR on a Saturday afternoon (April 14).

A lot of fans say they want Saturday games so we are putting offering on for that game.

Hopefully it also encourages a few more Hull KR fans to travel as well.
