Warrington Wolves u19 68 Leeds Rhinos u19 30

WILL Dagger and Charlie Phythian both ran in hat-tricks as Wolves under 19s returned to winning ways in fine style.

Stuart Barrow’s side scored 12 tries in total at Victoria Park, with Jack Taylor scoring twice to go with further efforts from Lewis Turner, Liam Jones, Jacob Chamberlain and Ellis Gillam.

Joe Edge also kicked 10 conversions as Wolves recorded their second convincing victory over Leeds this season.

It took Dagger just five minutes to open his account, racing through having collected a kick on his own 30 metre line, and Taylor twisted through a tackle to open his account shortly after.

Dagger’s long ball put Turner over in the left corner before the full-back finished off a Nathan Ainsworth break for his second try.

Taylor had scored his second try before Leeds got themselves on the board through Harry Newman, but Jones’ one-on-one steal led to him racing 90 metres to cross.

Phythian and Chamberlain scored either side of the break before another effort from the former brought up The Wire’s half-century.

Spencer Darley grabbed a consolation effort for Leeds, but Gillam and Phythian rounded off Wolves’ scoring.

Jack Walker, twice, and James Barraclough crossed in the last five minutes for Leeds, but it was Wolves’ day.

They host Wakefield Trinity at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday in their final game of the season, kick off 12.15, in a curtain-raiser to Wolves’ game against Catalans Dragons.
