WOLVES boss Tony Smith believes recent results could make Saturday's opponents Wakefield Trinity 'vulnerable.'

Chris Chester's side have had a remarkable season so far, sitting fifth in Super League, but have lost their past two games against top-four rivals Leeds and Hull FC.

Only Leeds, Hull and Wigan have beaten Trinity in their own back yard this season and Smith knows his side face a stiff test.

“They’ve certainly improved from last season but the last couple of weeks haven’t been what they are looking for,” he said.

“We’ll see what team we come up against this week, I’m sure they will be determined to play well on their home pitch.

“It’s always a difficult place to go but, as the past couple of weeks have shown, they are vulnerable like any other team.

“We’re not going to be beaten before we get there. We’re going to try our best and hopefully it will be good enough.”

Smith also warned his players against looking too far ahead as the regular rounds draw to a close.

“All we need to worry about each week is the opposition in front of us,” he said.

“That hasn’t changed from last week or the weeks before that.  “It’s up to other people to make those mathematical calculations about who can do what.”

“There’s lots of twists and turns to come, all we can deal with is the outcome of this game.
