TONY Smith says Peta Hiku’s arrival will give the team “the boost it needs.”
The New Zealand international’s arrival from NRL side Penrith Panthers on a deal until 2019 was confirmed this morning.
Hiku will provide Smith with much-needed options in his injury-hit back line as The Wire aim to squeeze into Super League’s top eight.
The Wire boss believes the 24-year-old will “add a lot” to the Wolves squad.
“Having spoken to Peta he’s excited about coming over and continuing his successful career here in Super League, giving us the boost in the positions we need,” he said.
“He’s a high quality player with plenty of experience, having represented his country, so to come up with a quality signing like Peta is very exciting.
“He will add a lot to the group and I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
