WOLVES boss Tony Smith says his side are still “far from where we want to be” despite their improving Super League form.

The Wire welcome Wakefield Trinity to The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday and victory would be their fourth in a row.

It would also extend their unbeaten run, which is currently the longest in Super League, to five matches.

The run has seen them move away from the bottom of the table after their nightmare start of losing their first six games, but Smith says his team are taking things one game at a time.

“We’re ticking away and trying to graft out some back-to-back wins,” he said.

“We’re far from where we want to be so we’re just focusing on each game as it comes. We’ve just done a good job of that recently without being outstanding.

“I think teams are wary of us and lift their game when they come to our place.

“Whether we’ve gone through a tough patch or not, I don’t think anybody underestimates us.”
