ANDRE Savelio believes several of the Wolves squad have “points to prove” as they face Australian opposition on Saturday.

The second-rower has played in two World Club Series games for St Helens, who were on the receiving end of heavy defeats to South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2015 and Sydney Roosters last year.

Savelio hopes Wolves can paint Super League in a better light against Brisbane Broncos.

“I’ve already had two cracks at Australian teams so I guess I’m lucky to be able to have a third,” he said.

“I don’t think we put across a fair representation of Super League in those games for Saints, Tony’s been in and expressed the importance of that.

“There’s a lot of boys who play for England under Wayne (Bennett, Brisbane coach) who will want to prove a point.

“We’ve got people who have played in the NRL as well like the Aussie boys and Coops who’s just come back and will want to put their hands up.

“The younger lads as well, we’ve got a chance to put a point across against one of the best teams in the NRL.”

Savelio, who marked his debut with a try in the defeat to Catalans, also highlighted areas in which Wolves must improve.

“We turned over a lot of ball, we can’t be like that this weekend,” he said.

“We need to be clinical, not make as many mistakes and tighten up around the ruck as well.”
