DEPARTING Warrington Wolves prop Ben Evans will be plying his trade with London Broncos in 2017.

Wales international Evans, twin brother of centre Rhys, made his Wolves first-team debut in February, 2014, before going on to make 22 appearances in the primrose and blue.

He was making excellent progress last season until an horrible quad tear ended his campaign.

Evans, who has had loan spells at Bradford Bulls and Leigh Centurions as well as playing on dual registration with partner clubs, came through the academy ranks with his brother after moving north from Bridgend as a young teenager to pursue a rugby league career.

“I had an amazing time with the Wolves and am very grateful for the opportunity the club gave me, and can’t thank the players and staff enough for my time there,” he commented.

“I’m ready for a new challenge now, and really looking forward to the move down south.

"I had a taste of the Championship after my loan with the Centurions this season, and it’s a very strong competition, now made even more exciting next year with the arrivals of Hull KR and Toulouse.

“I’m really looking forward to joining the boys in pre-season, and the start of a new chapter.”

London’s head coach, Andrew Henderson, says Evans' wealth of experience at such a young age can only be beneficial to his 2017 squad.

“Ben is another strong addition to our 2017 squad, he is a very industrious and robust prop," he said.

"Even though he is still relatively young, he is already a capped Welsh international, and has League One, Championship and Super League experience – that’s every level of professional rugby league played in this country.

“He’s very much looking forward to the move to London, and the challenge of getting us back to Super League.

"Ben certainly has the right attitude we look for in our players and believes in playing his part in growing the game in the south of England."

The talented youngster made his international debut for Wales in 2012 against France, and also featured in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, scoring a try against Italy.
