ONCE again, Hull FC find themselves standing between Wolves and silverware.
Not that we should be surprised as the two sides have proven themselves to be the stand-out teams in the competition this year.
After finally lifting their Wembley curse with victory over The Wire in last month’s Challenge Cup Final, Lee Radford’s side now have their eyes firmly fixed on Old Trafford.
Since their cup exploits, though, the Black and Whites have been a bit off-form with defeats to St Helens and Wigan allowing Wolves to jump above them in the race for the League Leaders’ Shield.
However, their victory over Wakefield and Warrington’s loss to the Warriors means it is all to play for at the KCOM Stadium.
Radford also has the luxury of a fully fit squad to choose from, with Mark Minichiello and Frank Pritchard returning from injury to replace Iafeta Palea’aesina and Curtis Naughton in the 19-man party.
As ever, much will rely on the metronomic kicking game of scrum-half Marc Sneyd, while Wolves fans will be all too familiar with Danny Houghton’s capabilities in defence after his Wembley heroics.
Hull 19-man squad: Jamie Shaul, Mahe Fonua, Carlos Tuimavave, Fetuli Talanoa, Marc Sneyd, Scott Taylor, Danny Houghton, Liam Watts, Mark Minichiello, Gareth Ellis, Chris Green, Jordan Thompson, Dean Hadley, Steve Michaels, Sika Manu, Josh Bowden, Frank Pritchard, Kirk Yeaman, Danny Washbrook.
