WOLVES back Rhys Evans has been named in the Wales squad for their upcoming 2017 Rugby League World Cup qualifiers.

The 23-year-old one of ten Super League players included in coach John Kear’s 29-man train-on squad ahead of matches against Serbia and Italy.

Evans made his Wales debut against Italy in the 2013 World Cup and has won three caps for his country.

However, this will be the first time he has played for Kear’s side since that time.

Wales will face Serbia on Saturday, October 15 at Stebonheath Park, Llanelli, before travelling to Monza to face Italy on Saturday, October 29.
