WOLVES are not the only team on a date with destiny at The Halliwell Jones Stadium tomorrow night.

Hull FC's victory at Wakefield last night all but ended Wigan's hopes of lifting the League Leaders Shield themselves, but defeat against The Wire would also put paid to their hopes of a top-two finish.

Ending the Super 8s in third or fourth would mean they would have to hit the road in their quest to reach a fourth Grand Final in a row.

As they have done for most of the season, they will have to face up to the task without several key players, including captain Sean O’Loughlin.

Michael McIlorum, Dom Manfredi, Tony Clubb, Lee Mossop and Joel Tomkins join their skipper in watching the game from the sidelines.

However, despite their lengthy injury list, Wigan’s threats are still varied and potent.

Josh Charnley is enjoying a stellar year on the wing as he prepares to switch codes and join Sale Sharks at the season’s end, while Taulima Tautai is a man reborn in the past few weeks.

Sam Tomkins is always a threat despite a below-par year by his standards, while John Bateman has shown no ring-rust after an internal eight-week suspension.

Wigan squad: John Bateman, Joe Bretherton, Josh Charnley, Dom Crosby, Liam Farrell, Ben Flower, Anthony Gelling, Oliver Gildart, Willie Isa, Frank-Paul Nuuausala, Sam Powell, Dan Sarginson, Jake Shorrocks, Matty Smith, Ryan Sutton, Taulima Tautai, Lewis Tierney, Sam Tomkins, George Williams.
