IT will be cheers to Warrington Wolves next weekend for the annual Wire2Wolves Beer Festival.

The event is one of the key events as the club celebrates 140 years of rugby league at the club.

The festival takes place next Friday, July 15 from 6pm until 11pm and Saturday, July 16, from noon until 11pm at The Jack Fish Corner beneath the South Stand at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Amy Blackburn, from the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation which organises the event, said: "The Beer Festival sees The Jack Fish Corner transformed into a real ale bar, where rugby fans and beer fans alike can come and enjoy a beer while looking at the Wire2Wolves Heritage Timeline, celebrating the history of the club and also the town.

"For those who are not ale fans, there will also be cider and wine available with live music also being performed during the evenings."

Tickets can be pre-purchased from the foundation office for £5 and advance tickets will receive two free pints on the day.

All attendees will receive a limited edition commemorative pint glass.

The event is the latest in a number planned for throughout 2016.

A special evening to mark the 30th anniversary of the famous Premiership triumph over Halifax was held in May while later this month, the home clash with Huddersfield Giants on July 23 will have a heritage theme involving memory sharing and past players.

A celebration is also planned when the season ends in October to further mark the occasion.
