INFLUENTIAL scrum-half Chris Sandow is set to make his long-awaited return from injury in Friday’s clash with Leeds Rhinos.
The 27-year-old has not featured since tearing his hamstring in last month’s win at Wigan and he was expected to be missing for around ten weeks.
However, Wolves head coach Tony Smith says his recovery has gone better than expected and, pending a final medical sign-off, he is in contention to return against Brian McDermott’s side.
More good news came in that the hamstring injury picked up by Matty Russell in the Magic Weekend defeat to Castleford is not as serious as first feared and Smith says he will only be missing for a couple of weeks.
