A DANGEROUS Castleford side lie in wait as Wolves make the trip to Tyneside for the 10th Magic Weekend.

Daryl Powell’s men go into the game in seventh place, too close to the Middle Eights for comfort but also a springboard for an assault on the higher positions.

On the flip side of the attractive rugby which has seen them admirably dubbed “Classy Cas” by many observers, Tigers have the competition’s leakiest defence with 401 points conceded so far.

However, they remain one of the most dangerous sides in the competition going forward, as demonstrated by last week’s eye-catching 52-12 win over Leeds at Headingley.

Chief among those is flying winger Denny Solomona, the 22-year-old New Zealander who tops the try charts with 16 scores so far and has a penchant for the spectacular, while ex-Wire captain Joel Monaghan could operate on the other wing or at centre and the vastly-experienced Luke Dorn is still a thorn in many a side from full-back.

England international Luke Gale is the schemer-in-chief and he looks set be re-joined in the pivots by Ben Roberts, the man he linked up with to devastating effect last year who has returned to the squad after missing ten weeks with a foot injury.

The Yorkshiremen aren't without their injury worries as influential figures Andy Lynch and Michael Shenton are on the long-term injury list, while talented young forward Oliver Holmes is also absent

On-loan Wigan back Ryan Hampshire returns to the squad along with experienced centre Jake Webster, the towering former Hull KR man who hasn’t featured since scoring a try against his former side on April 24.
