CATALANS-bound Richie Myler would love to sign off after six years at The Halliwell Jones Stadium by lifting the Challenge Cup for a second time.

Myler, part of Warrington Wolves' 2012 winning side, will join the Perpignan outfit for next season.

“You want to win every game you play and I’ve had six amazing years at Warrington,” said the scrum half.

“I’ve been fortunate to play in some very big games and lift some silverware, but also play in big games and lose.

“So I’ve experienced it all, but it would be good to finish on a high.”

The 25-year-old admits he feels more relaxed now his future is sorted, but will give everything to help Warrington reach Wembley for a fourth time under Tony Smith.

“I’ve been fortunate to get there before and play there and it’s an indescribable experience,” he said.

“The history of the cup and the beauty of it all lives long with you. Every player wants to get back and play there and we’ve got a chance.

“We’ve got a tough game against Hull KR first and we know we have to give ourselves every opportunity to get there again.

“These big games don’t come around often so we know it’s going to be a tough game and they’re going to cause a test, so we’re going to have to be on our money to beat them."

The former Salford man is looking forward to heading into camp at Leeds on Friday.

He added: "It’s an early kick off and it's good just to get that feel of being together as a club.

"It’s a great experience, it’s what you want. These big games are what it’s all about and to spend time as a team and a group together is good."

Myler, who recently celebrated the birth of son Ernie with wife Helen, says he is enjoying his rugby.

"My future is sorted now and I know where I’m going to be next year," he explained. "I know where that’s going to be and I can sit back and enjoy the rest of the season.

"I think that’s coming out in my play, I’m a little bit more relaxed and hopefully that will come out towards the end of the season.

"You try not to let it, I think I’ve done all right this year but it (speculation) can have an effect on you even though you try not to let it."

And baby Ernie has helped.

Myler added: "He’s smashing, he’s doing really well and so is Helen.

"It’s the best thing that you can ever experience and we feel very fortunate and privileged to have him.

"He went swimming for the first time yesterday at five weeks old, so he’s enjoying it!

"And I’ve probably slept better! As soon as he’s going down I’m thinking ‘right, get some sleep’ and Helen’s been great.

"Helen knows I’ve got to go to work and run around a field for two or three hours, so she’s been great.

"We’re enjoying it and hopefully there’ll be many more happy days."
