LIFELONG Warrington Wolves fan James Patrick Maguire died last night, peacefully in Warrington Hospital after a battle against stomach cancer.
The 85-year-old, better known as Jock, was a former Warrington Hospital and ambulance employee described as the 'life and soul of the party' by everyone associated with the Super League club.
A club statement this morning reads: "Warrington Wolves were saddened to hear of the passing of Wire legend and lifelong fan James Patrick Maguire. 'Jock', to everyone who knew him, passed away peacefully last night in Warrington General Hospital after a brave battle against stomach cancer, aged 85.
"The loveable Scot followed Rugby League and Warrington for 80 years since he moved to the town and he was the life and soul of the party known by everyone associated with the club.
"Our heartfelt condolences go out to family, friends and all who knew him.
"Rest in peace Jock."
