TONY Smith confirmed Wolves are looking to try to bring another player into the ranks before next Friday’s transfer deadline.

Although having previously highlighted that salary cap was restricting Wolves bringing in loan players during the injury crisis, it appears some funds may have been held in reserve to make a late signing.

Wolves have been attempting to bring in scrum half Chris Sandow from Parramatta Eels, who are reported to have refused the player’s request for an early release.

Smith was asked if he is hoping that decision will be reversed over the next week.

He said: “Whatever will happen will happen.

“We’ve got a team going good here at the moment. If that’s what we’ve got to play with, I’m quite excited by that and the remainder of the season.

“If there’s a chance of adding to it before the end of the season, I’ll be excited about that too.

“That’s probably as best as I can answer that question. If it happens it happens. Whether it’s Chris or somebody else, we’ll see.”
