WOLVES are likely to face a smattering of former Super League players when they return to first-team coach Richard Agar's first club Dewsbury Rams in the sixth round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.

A first appearance for Warrington at the Tetley's Stadium awaits on the weekend of May 15-17 following tonight's draw, with a place in the quarter finals beckoning the winners.

Rams, currently fifth in the Kingstone Press Championship and making a good fight of earning an appearance in the middle 8s at the end of the regular 23 rounds, feature former Widnes and Wigan Super League players in a squad coached by former Australian rugged back rower Glenn Morrison.

A quick glance at their roster shows Wolves will not have it easy.

The 6ft 7ins centre or winger Karl Pryce, brother of Hull half back Leon, is in the squad along with Australian half back Brett Seymour (ex-Hull), Papua New Guinea international prop Makali Aizue (ex-Hull KR), prop Paul Jackson (ex-Widnes and Wakefield), back rower Rob Spicer (ex-Wakefield), winger Dale Morton (ex-Wakefield), half back Anthony Thackeray (ex-Widnes) and centre Shane Grady (ex-Widnes and London).

Grady would be a doubt with a broken thumb, while also on their books is former Woolston Rovers full back Ryan Fieldhouse, the son of ex-Warrington player John, who could be back on the scene by then after injury.

Hooker Wayne Godwin has been loaned out to Salford Red Devils and is now cup-tied having played for them in Saturday's loss to Leigh Centurions, but Morrison has brought in cover with the experienced Aussie Seymour.

Agar will be familiar with a number of those players from his days in charge at Wakefield.

He turned pro as a player with Dewsbury Rams on August 26, 1993, signing as a 21-year-old stand off from Pontefract amateurs Travellers Saints.

Early into his third season, he joined Rochdale Hornets but returned to the Yorkshire outfit for the start of his most successful spell as a player.

Under Neil Kelly, a Northern Ford Premiership Grand Final appearance was made against Hunslet at Headingley in 1999.

Twelve months later he was at number six again and kicked the last-minute drop goal that earned Dewsbury a thrilling 13-12 NFP Grand Final win against Leigh Centurions at Gigg Lane, Bury.
