GARY Wheeler could return for Warrington Wolves against Leeds Rhinos on Friday.
First team coach Richard Agar confirmed the former St Helens man is back in the reckoning, but does not anticipate many changes to the Wolves 19 named for last week’s clash with Wigan Warriors.
Tony Smith admitted Micky Higham had a perforated ear drum after Thursday’s loss, but Agar says that will not rule him out.
“Other than Gary Wheeler having a chance of coming back into the 19, I wouldn’t envisage too many changes,” said Agar.
“I wouldn’t anticipate our 19 altering too much. The final make up of the team, who makes the bench and who starts, I’m sure when we’ve had a good look at Leeds we’ll be closer to it.
“Micky’s was post game, but he’s trained and hasn’t been on any restrictive measures.”
Wolves’ coaching staff also handed the players a weekend break after four games in 15 days.
“They’ve had the weekend off,” added Agar. “It was a good opportunity after a hectic period but they’re back in today with a spring in their step and looking forward.”
