TONY Smith says Anthony England will today challenge a charge made against him following the loss at Widnes Vikings.
England was charged with making Grade B dangerous contact on Cameron Phelps in the 29th minute of that fixture.
He will appear before an independent disciplinary tribunal this evening.
“He’s going to challenge that,” said Smith. “He didn’t make a crusher tackle on the bloke and he’s been charged with that.
“He’s just going in to make a tackle and there’s not much he could do to avoid that tackle. It was more the way the player went down rather than what he did.
“He’ll either be unavailable (for Saturday) because he will have had an unfair conviction or he’ll be available because it was cleared because it was not a crusher tackle.”
