RICHIE Myler did not figure for Warrington Wolves in their loss at Catalans Dragons because he is now recovering from an operation, while Rhys Evans’ shoulder problem is worse than first feared.

Scrum half Myler, who was named in the 19-man squad on Thursday for today’s clash with Catalans Dragons, had a “sportsman’s hernia” repair yesterday, Friday.

Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith said: “He’s in recovery from that, so he’ll be a few weeks before he’s back available.

“Richie’s been carrying it for a few weeks and struggling through. It got to a point where he felt it was time to get it repaired. Hopefully he’ll come back strong from that.”

Winger Evans, who came off the field injured in the defeat to St George Illawarra Dragons last weekend, is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Smith revealed: “Rhys was injured last week with a severe shoulder injury so he’ll be close to a few months rather than a few weeks before being available.”
