DARYL Clark hopes making an impression during his debut season with Warrington Wolves will help him win a regular England spot.

The Steve Prescott Man of Steel winner made an impact on his debut during the Four Nations and cannot wait to pull on his country’s colours again.

He will be hoping to be involved when England take on New Zealand during the Autumn Internationals in November – to be played at the KC Stadium, London’s Olympic Stadium and the DW.

“Making my debut for England and going on tour was a memorable moment, something I enjoyed and I loved every minute of it,” he said.

“It’s given me an urge now to be involved in as many England games as I can. That’s what everyone wants to do in their career, play at the highest level which means playing for your country.

“I didn’t really know what to expect going over there. It was the first time I’d been over to Australia and playing against some of the best players in the world for your country, it doesn’t really get much better than that.”

It topped a huge year for the former Castleford Tigers man, winning Super League’s highest individual honour and taking his home-town club to a Challenge Cup final.

“It was an amazing experience for me,” he added. “At the start of the year I never thought anything like that was going to come, but it was an amazing night and great for me and my family.

“It was a great year for Cas as well, not just me individually. Playing at Wembley with your home town club in front of thousands of Cas fans and people from Cas was pretty special.”

And the 21-year-old hooker hopes to form a formidable partnership with Chris Hill and Ashton Sims as the season progresses.

"Hilly, he pretty much four years ago came out of nowhere to be one of the best props in the country," explained Clark.

"My game’s built around go forward and quick play the balls, hopefully with Hilly and Ashton they can make me look good.”
