WARRINGTON Wolves will be hoping to maintain their recent purple patch against Catalans Dragons when they visit France this weekend.

Tony Smith’s side have enjoyed Super League doubles over their hosts during the past two seasons, edging it 26-24 in Perpignan last August after a 42-10 success at The Halliwell Jones in May.

They won 24-16 at home and 14-12 away in 2013.

But that followed years of enduring a torrid time at the hands of the French outfit, failing to win in France between the club’s Super League inception in 2006 and the 2012 season.

The Stade Gilbert Brutus club also recorded their first ever away win at Warrington, during their debut Super League campaign in 2006.

But they will face the boys in primrose and blue with a depleted pack on Saturday.

Head coach Laurent Frayssinous is missing Olivier Elima and Eloi Pelissier through suspension ahead of the round three clash.

Remi Casty, who returned from Sydney Roosters in the off-season, will also miss out after suffering a broken hand.

Another to arrive in Perpignan from the NRL ahead of this season, and who may make a return from injury, is former Cronulla Sharks man Todd Carney.

The 28-year-old Australian is yet to feature for Catalans but could be fit to face Warrington, while fellow half back Scott Dureau was on form for the hosts against Castleford last time out.

Dureau, returning to the Dragons’ side for the first time since February last year, scored a late drop goal to help beat the Tigers 13-12.

That was Catalans’ first win of the 2015 season, with Dureau also converting tries from Morgan Escare and Elliott Whitehead.

A week earlier they had lost on the opening day at Langtree Park, with St Helens running out 18-7 victors.

Pelissier, who was sin-binned along with Elima against Castleford, scored the visitors’ only try and Thomas Bosc added the extras.
