NEW Warrington Wolves skipper Joel Monaghan is prepared to go on a blind date to help his Wolves teammate’s Testimonial flourish.

Prolific Australian try scorer Monaghan credits Chris Bridge for many of his touchdowns and prolonged stay in England, so has agreed to join back rower James Laithwaite and physio Ben Sterling in a game of Blind Date later this year.

The event is set to be one of the highlights of a Testimonial campaign that will also include Come Dine With Me, family fun days, ladies nights, question and answer sessions as well as a charity walk, Monster Mash fancy dress party and gala dinner.

“I get a lot of accolades for scoring tries but I reckon half of them or more would have been off Chris,“ said Monaghan.

“He’s a great player to play outside and it was one of the reasons why I decided to stick around for so long (contracted until end of 2016).

“He’s an even better bloke than he is a player. He’s a special kind - intense, but I can’t get enough of him. My family love him, we love him and hopefully we can get a win for his Testimonial.”

Hull KR are in town for Sunday’s Testimonial match and Monaghan could face an opponent more familiar to him than many Wolves fans - his former Canberra Raiders teammate Terry Campese, one of 13 new Rovers signings and the Robins' new captain.

“I’m actually godfather of his daughter, he’s one of my best mates,” said Monaghan.

"He came and spent New Year with me just before Rovers went to Portugal for their warm-weather camp.

"I'm glad he's got a fresh start over here."
