WARRINGTON Wolves will return to Tenerife this winter for some warm weather pre-season training.

Tony Smith’s side are heading back to the Canary Island-complex they stayed at before the 2010, 2011 and 2013 seasons.

They will fly out on January 10 for a week-long stay and Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby is confident the players feel at home at the complex.

“We’ll be back to Tenerife,” he explained. “Which is fantastic, we’ve been to about three or four times now.

“We’re really comfortable there, we know the facilities very well and it’s a fantastic place for us to prepare for another season.

“We’re very grateful to Simon to allow us to do that again, we’re looking forward to that. We always get a lot of high quality work done in that week.”

However, a majority of the Wolves squad will return to training on November 17.

Smith added: “Some of the boys who are having operations will be a little bit behind that because they’re working on rehab while everyone else is having a break.

“We’ll also have some senior players resume on December 1, they’ll have a little bit longer break.

“Then of course we’ve got three international players in Stefan, Hilly and Daryl that will resume around Christmas time – they’ll have their break after the Four Nations.”
