WARRINGTON Wolves owner Simon Moran believes Daryl Clark is the best possible replacement for Michael Monaghan.
Joint-skipper Monaghan will retire at the end of the season, but Wolves will welcome 21-year-old Clark to The Halliwell Jones Stadium on a four-year deal from 2015.
And Moran is excited to see the talented young hooker in a Wolves shirt.
“Michael Monaghan is a fantastic player,” he said. “Barring possibly one or two hookers in Australia, Daryl Clark is the best possible replacement.
“He’s a great talent and we can’t wait to see him in primrose and blue.
“Daryl has been admired greatly by Tony Smith (head coach) since he was 17 and we have tracked him respectfully since then.”
Moran is also looking forward to seeing the Challenge Cup finalist team up with Chris Hill and fellow new arrival Ashton Sims.
“When you now consider a front row of Chris Hill, Daryl Clark and Ashton Sims, we’re right up there with any team,” he added.
