WARRINGTON Wolves under 19s head coach Danny Fullerton was delighted with how his side stuck to their game plan in the rout of Castelford Tigers on Friday.

Toby King scored a hat-trick, with further tries from Sean Kenny, two, Declan Patton, Harvey Livett, Ben Stansfield, Jack Johnson and Ben Stansfield as Wolves won 58-6.

Fullerton said: “That was more like what we are capable of. I thought that from one to 17 every player contributed to what was a ruthless performance.

“We got on top right from the kick off and forced two goal line drop outs in the opening few minutes and this really did set the tone for the rest of the game.

“We stuck to the gameplan for the whole game and that allowed us to constantly build up pressure on the Tigers defence and they were unable to cope with the speed and sharpness that we had when we were in possession.

“It was great to have Tom Walker back in the side after his bad injury and he deserves special praise for putting in a very good display.”

Fellow head coach Lee Briers added: “We knew that the way we had trained in the week that the lads were desperate to right the wrongs from the past couple of weeks.

“The intensity that they have shown was really high and they have taken that out onto the pitch and Castleford were unable to handle us.

“We were stunning with ball in hand but our defensive work was as equally impressive as we never allowed the Tigers to get on a roll.”

Wolves face Huddersfield Giants on Wednesday, kick-off 6.45pm, at Crosfields ARLFC.
