CHRIS Hill's display against Widnes Vikings left his coach purring.

The England prop's all-action performance was described as 'enormous' by Warrington Wolves' head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith.

"I know he's been mentioned a couple of times this season, and deservedly so, but Cris Hill was absolutely enormous for us today," said Smith after the 44-6 victory at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

"I think their should be 17 votesin the dressing room for him as man of the match and I'd have no problem with him voting for himself withb the way he played today.

"I thought he was absolutely outstanding and he's getting better.

"He just sets high standards for himself and he keeps on improving."

Smith, who had also singled out Gareth O'Brien for praise, added: "I thought there were plenty of good performers.

"Some of our players played some of their best games of the season today.

"And when you get enough of them doing that, it tends to be you come out on the right side of the scoreboard."
