A GRUDGE match Wolves are looking forward to – that is how England prop Chris Hill describes the date with champions Wigan at The Halliwell Jones Stadium tonight, Thursday.

Hill, one of three Wiganers expected in Wolves’ line-up, agrees that the expected intensity, ferocity and rivalry makes for a tasty match-up that has delivered ‘games of the season’ in recent times.

Heat has been turned up further with this being a repeat of October’s Grand Final and with Wigan boss Shaun Wane saying spice has been added – because of Wolves assisting Sydney Roosters with preparations for their World Club Challenge clash with Wigan last month.

“I think Wigan took that a bit too far, we were only training with Roosters.

“But it is what it is. It’s the usual grudge match with Wigan.

“It adds to the game. That’s what people come watching it for and that’s what people turn the TV on for. As long as people are talking about games in Super League, it’s better for the competition as a whole.

“It’s going to be a great spectacle and I should imagine there’ll be a bumper crowd.”

And he says Wolves are wary of the visitors, despite their squad absences.

“They might be starting to hit a bit of form and we need to watch them because they’ve got threats all over the park.”
