A FRACAS in the latter stages of Wolves’ win at Salford Red Devils centred around Chris Hill’s head guard.

The incident was soon broken up, but Wolves’ England prop was incensed by the actions of a Salford defender at the time.

Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith said: “His skull cap got pulled.

“It was getting reefed and the strap underneath his chin was just about to cut him in two apparently because it was getting pulled that hard.

“He did take a bit of an exception to that.

“Hilly just plays the game and it takes a bit to rile him but somebody did rile him.”

Hill added: “I’m precious about my skull cap. It was all heat of the moment, it’s all good now.”
