A TRIP to Leeds Rhinos could potentially be the last thing Wolves want after their opening week.

Having suffered at the hands of St Helens’ new-look half back pairing, they now come up against arguaby the best ‘one to seven’ in Super League.

Rhinos now boast two of England’s strongest wingers, with former Hull FC try scorer Tom Briscoe joining the formidable Ryan Hall on the edges of Brian McDermott’s lethal back line.

Partnering Briscoe with fellow England centre Kallum Watkins caused havoc for their opening week opponents Hull KR, with Briscoe crossing for a debut hat-trick and Watkins adding one of his own to complete the 34-6 rout.

Having confirmed that 21-year-old winger Gene Ormsby will make his first team debut on Friday, Tony Smith is likely to charge him and Ryan Atkins with keeping Leeds’ four-try pair quiet, and that will be no easy task.

Rhinos will also present Wolves with some difficulties around the ruck, especially if Smith’s men allow their opponents to get the upper hand in the same way Saints did last week.

Smith highlighted the play-the-ball as an area Wolves desperately needed to improve, and that would be the case even if they weren’t coming up against a side boasting Rob Burrow and new signing Paul Aiton at dummy half.

A signing from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, Aiton played hooker for Papua New Guinea in the World Cup and further strengthens their attacking options to make Rhinos a more dangerous side then they have been for several years.

Considering they lifted the Super League trophy in 2012, that is saying something.
