Warrington Guardian: DISCIPLINARY UPDATE: Two players charged DISCIPLINARY UPDATE: Two players charged

DISCIPLINARY decisions have been made by Rugby Football League chiefs studying video evidence from Warrington Wolves' home loss to St Helens on Thursday.

No charges have been handed to St Helens players Sia Soliola, Jon Wilkin or Jordan Turner for incidents that occurred.

Samoan back rower Soliola was deemed to have attempted to make a legitimate tackle against Michael Monaghan in the 32nd minute.

The report says: "Tackle is high however attacker is dipping. Initial contact is with the chest. Penalty sufficient."

A high tackle by centre Turner on full back Stefan Ratchford in the 51st minute was also explored.

The report says: "Contact is with shoulder first and player is reaching for his opponent. Penalty sufficient."

Back rower Wilkin was under scrutiny for dangerous contact with Ryan Atkins in the 60th minute.

The report says: "Player takes hold of leg in an attempt to make the tackle. His momentum turns him around which results in the attacker’s leg being twisted. Force applied is minimal and there is no force applied after the tackle is complete. Tackle ends safely."

Two players have been charged with offences committed in the opening round of the First Utility Super League season.

Olivier Elima of Catalan Dragons has been charged with the Grade D offence of  making dangerous contact with the legs of Hull FC player Aaron Heremaia in the 47th minute of the fixture at KC Stadium on Friday February 14.

Elima will appear before an RFL Disciplinary Tribunal tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.

Michael Weyman of Hull Kingston Rovers has been charged with the Grade C offence of making dangerous contact with the legs of Leeds Rhinos player Jamie Peacock in the sixth minute of the fixture at KC Lightstream Stadium on Sunday February 16.

Weyman has until 11.00am on Tuesday February 18 to submit an Early Guilty Plea.

Was I watching a different tackle, in a different game, on Michael Monaghan? He dipped about a centimetre from what I could see. Then his head touched the back of his knees.
