WOLVES boss Tony Smith has given his biggest hint yet as to who will be named in Wolves’ starting line-up for their Super League opener against St Helens on Thursday, February 13.

Smith has named a strong 13-man starting line-up for the friendly match against Salford Red Devils at The Halliwell Jones Stadium, kick off 8pm, naming Stefan Ratchford at full back and newly-appointed club captain Michael Monaghan alongside Richie Myler in the halves.

New signing Roy Asotasi also earns a home debut after a brief stint in the victory over Leigh Centurions on Sunday.

Smith said: "We are going to put out the strongest available team to start with and we'll have some young guys from the Leigh game backing up off the bench.

“We're putting out a very strong team.

“The only people unavailable are Matty Russell, Paul Wood and Ben Harrison, and Simon Grix won't be playing this week but aside from that everybody's going to be playing.

“It should be a good hit-out and we are looking forward to it.

“We are excited about our up and coming season; we've worked really hard in the off-season and are in good shape."

Wolves's starting line-up: Stefan Ratchford; Joel Monaghan, Chris Bridge, Ryan Atkins, Chris Riley; Michael Monaghan, Richie Myler; Chris Hill, Micky Higham, Roy Asotasi, Ben Westwood, Trent Waterhouse, Ben Currie.
