WARRINGTON Wolves' Welsh winger Rhys Williams has joined Salford City Reds on an inital month's loan.

Wolves' head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith has expressed reluctance on letting players go out on loan if they were going to be used as 'back-up' players.

It would seem then that the 23-year-old is set to figure in Salford's first game of the new season against Wigan Warriors on Friday night.

Williams has previously had spells on loan at Crusaders and Castleford Tigers.
