WARRINGTON Wolves have announced their squad for the traditional Boxing Day clash with 'derby' rivals Widnes Vikings at the Stobart Stadium, kick off 3pm.

As expected Tony Smith has included a number of younger players in the 20-strong squad, including 11 of the 2012 Valvoline Cup winning team, but Smith has also named a selection of first team regulars to compliment his young side.

Smith said: "It's a great experience for some of the young lads especially.

"There'll be some senior guys in there alongside them to help them gain that experience and that's important.

"We want to give them as much chance as we can to impress before the season starts and we won't have many opportunities to do that.

"This fixture brings out the best in both sides and is always entertaining and one we're looking forward to. I know the fans will too.

"We like to play in games that mean something to everyone and it certainly will.

"There's that built in rivalry between the two teams, clubs and two sets of fans and we will certainly be doing our best to perform well."
