FIRST team coaches Willie Poching and Richard Marshall have extended their contracts at Warrington Wolves.

They have agreed one-year deals, keeping them at the club until November 2013.

This follows news earlier this year that Tony Smith will remain as head of coaching and rugby at Wolves until November 2015.

Poching said: “I am very pleased to be staying with the team and club for another year.

"The success that we’ve had over the last couple of years is something we are hoping to continue and I am looking forward to playing my part in helping the team to be as successful as possible.

"There are three trophies on offer and we’ll be doing our damnedest to try and challenge, to put ourselves in the best position to hopefully get our hands on them.

“I think it’s important to maintain continuity and familiarity; we’ve got to keep challenging each other, helping to improve and bring out the best in each other. Everyone here has a great relationship and I enjoy working alongside every single person which was also part of my reason for staying.”

Marshall added: “I didn’t really hesitate when I was offered the contract extension.

"I think the club is going in the right direction and I’m looking forward to another 12 months.

"When we spoke at the end of the year we’d had some success on the field and certainly the juniors I had coached had a successful year. One of my motivations is to see them prosper and gain even more experience under Tony and the other coaching staff.

“We’ve got a really young, strong squad and if you mix that with your Lee Briers and Adrian Morleys I think it’s a good blend. We’ve not felt the need to bring anyone in, and stability, I think, is important certainly with a club growing at the rate Warrington is.”

Player welfare officer Karl Fitzpatrick has also agreed a two-year contract extension until November 2014.

His off-field role assists the players when considering career options after Rugby League as well as educating and guiding them on a range of topical issues both inside and outside of the sport.

Wolves say this has played a big part in developing good people as well as good rugby players within the squad.

New to the performance staff for 2013 will be Ben Stirling, who will be taking over the role of head physiotherapist from Ross Mitchell.

Ben is the head physio for Wales Rugby League, having also worked with Crusaders RL and Super League side Castleford Tigers.
