WARRINGTON Wolves’ arch rivalry with St Helens could scale even greater heights in 2013.

The League Leaders’ Shield destination or key play-offs positions could hinge on the trip to Langtree Park on the penultimate weekend of the regular season.

And for the first time the two will square up in the ‘extra’ fixtures featured in the Magic Weekend, handing Warrington a significantly stronger test than against Super League newcomers Widnes Vikings last year.

Wolves won on both trips to Langtree Park last season, including the Grand Final qualifier that ended Saints’ run of six successive appearances at Old Trafford.

Saints, now coached by Wolves boss Tony Smith’s former teammate, Nathan Brown, held the advantage at The Halliwell Jones Stadium though in 2012 with two victories.
