Harrison joins fellow Wolves forwards Chris Hill and Adrian Morley in Steve McNamara's 19-man England squad
Ben Harrison has joined Warrington Wolves teammates Adrian Morley, Chris Hill and Richie Myler in England’s 19-man squad for Saturday’s Autumn International against France at Craven Park, kick off 2.30pm.
The Warrington trio of Hill, Morley and Myler all played a part in the 80-point obliteration of Wales in Wrexham, while Harrison has this week earned a call-up to replace the injured Sean O’Loughlin, who is suffering from a thigh strain.
England have also named Wigan full-back Sam Tomkins and Hull FC winger Tom Briscoe, whilst retaining 16 of the squad that beat Wales 80-12 last weekend.
“We have a number of options going into the France game this Saturday and there could be changes to the side that defeated Wales last week,” said McNamara.
“We have healthy competition for places across all areas and no one is guaranteed their place in the team. The players are aware of this and continue to put in the effort in training to make sure they are prepared and ready for what should be a physical battle against France.”
England 19-man squad to play France: Carl Ablett (Leeds Rhinos, Hunslet Parkside), Tom Briscoe (Hull FC, Featherstone Lions), Rob Burrow (Leeds Rhinos, Featherstone Lions), Josh Charnley (Wigan Warriors, Wigan St Pats), Leroy Cudjoe (Huddersfield Giants, Newsome Panthers), Gareth Ellis (Hull FC, Lock Lane), Ryan Hall (Leeds Rhinos, Oulton Raiders), Zak Hardaker (Leeds Rhinos, Featherstone Lions), Ben Harrison (Warrington Wolves, Barrow Island), Chris Hill (Warrington Wolves, New Springs Lions), Gareth Hock (Wigan Warriors, Wigan St Judes), Jamie Jones-Buchanan (Leeds Rhinos, Stanningley), Michael McIlorum (Wigan Warriors, Queens), Adrian Morley (Warrington Wolves, Eccles), Lee Mossop (Wigan Warriors, Hensingham), Richie Myler (Warrington Wolves, Halton West Bank), Kevin Sinfield © (Leeds Rhinos, Waterhead), Sam Tomkins (Wigan Warriors, Wigan St Pats), Kallum Watkins (Leeds Rhinos, Latchford Albion).
