STEVE Price says he has “the utmost faith” in the Wire players coming into contention for the clash with Hull FC tonight

Pat Moran and Luis Johnson - neither of whom have played a Super League game - have been included in The Wire's 19-man squad for the game at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Injury and suspension has accounted for three more Wolves players, with Bryson Goodwin (head knock) and Mike Cooper (hamstring) sitting out along with Sitaleki Akauola, who serves a one-match ban.

Dom Crosby (ankle) is also not yet fit to return, meaning Warrington look light and inexperienced in the forwards for the Black and Whites' visit.

However, Price insists this is "not an issue" for his side.

“We have enough in terms of personnel,” he told the Guardian.

“I’ve got every confidence in the playing group, whoever we put out there.

“I’ve got the utmost faith in the players to get out there and do their job.

“Everyone knows their role, whoever comes in, so that’s not an issue.

“That’s rugby league. One door closes and another opens for someone else to show their worth.

“The great thing about this game is that opportunities will always arise.

“I’m confident, and so are the rest of the guys, that whoever comes in will do a good job for us.”

Ben Pomeroy could make his second Wire debut as a straight replacement for Goodwin in the centres, while Mitch Brown is also an option.

Joe Philbin or George King could step up to partner Chris Hill in the front row, which would leave Moran or Johnson to fill their spot on the bench should either of them make the matchday 17.

Whichever solution Price opts for, he will be sending out a team aiming to bounce back from their 10-game winning streak being ended unceremoniously by Wigan Warriors on Saturday.

Their 38-10 Magic Weekend defeat was The Wire's heaviest of 2018, but the head coach says the players are not "beating themselves up" over the loss to their neighbours.

"We're always honest with each other, whether we're winning or losing," he said.

"We're not beating ourselves up about last week.

"The challenge for us is to improve on the things we weren't so happy with, which the players have bought into.

"We've had some big sessions on the training paddock and we've worked really hard.

"It's a really important game against Hull FC. They are decimated by injuries too, but they are always a tough team.

"They still have a really strong forward pack through the middle third. Like all teams, we will show them respect.

"If we go out and play to the ability we're capable of, we'll give ourselves every chance."
