The Tongan forward was due to make his first return to the AJ Bell Stadium since leaving for Warrington at the end of last season but picked up the injury against Castleford on Monday.

Scans have now shown up a grade two tear in his medial ligament and is set for an absence of three to four weeks.

Centre Bryson Goodwin, who missed the 18-6 win over the Tigers through illness and will be assessed later in the week.

“The boys have had a couple of days off, so we’ll make a decision later on in the week with Bryson,” he said.

“I’ve got a good headache with Toby, Ryan and Bryson.

“They are all in form so we have some really centre combinations in there. It’s a good position to be in.

“Benny Murdoch copped a bit of a knock on his knee.

“Other than that, we’ve come through relatively well.”
