WARRINGTON Wolves must “play clean” if they are to emerge victorious from tonight’s clash with Hull FC, half-back Tyrone Roberts says.

High penalty counts had blighted The Wire’s opening games of 2018 as they lost their first two games against Leeds and Huddersfield.

Victories over Widnes and Wigan have seen that statistic improve and Roberts has called for that to continue at the KCOM Stadium.

He has hailed an improvement in discipline within the camp but says Wolves must stop “giving teams piggy-backs up the field.”

“Everyone knows the potential within the team when things do come together,” he said.

“In the first two rounds, we gave away too many penalties.

“We were giving teams piggy-backs up the field and putting pressure on ourselves to defend our line.

“Over the past two games, that’s gone down and the lads have been a lot more disciplined.

“We have to keep that going against Hull and make sure we play clean.”
