CONFIDENCE is building in the Wire camp as they prepare for the trip to Hull FC tomorrow, Friday, kick off 8pm.

Friday’s 16-10 victory over Wigan Warriors made it back-to-back victories for Steve Price’s side to kickstart their Super League campaign.

However, they must pursue a third straight win without stand-off Kevin Brown, who has been ruled out with a neck injury.

Price has confirmed Declan Patton will take Brown’s place alongside Tyrone Roberts in the halves at the KCOM Stadium, but it is hoped Brown will return for next week’s game against St Helens.

Ben Currie is also missing for The Wire as he looks set to miss around four weeks with a knee injury, but Joe Philbin is back in contention after a head knock.

“Dec Patton will come in alongside Tyrone. It’s a good opportunity for him to show what he’s capable of,” Price said.

“There’s certainly more confidence and belief amongst the playing group.

“We’re under no illusions that we need to get better and the players and staff are all aware of that.

“Confidence is growing, though, and it’s important we keep that going.”

Roberts looks set to play in two consecutive games for the first time in 2018 after being blighted by a persistent knee problem.

However, Price believes he can see the Australian playmaker growing in stature every day and says that will lead to a more ruthless Warrington attack.

“We’ve had a lot of new combinations in the group. When you have that much change, things take time,” he said.

“As the weeks go by, our execution will get better.

“The more times T trains with Daryl Clark, Stefan Ratchford, Kev Brown and Declan Patton, the more confidence it builds.

“He’s had another good week of training this week after a good one last week. He’s getting more confident as a result, so it’s exciting times ahead.”

Wolves travel along the M62 to face a Black and Whites side that have lost their past two league games.

Having started with a victory over Huddersfield, Lee Radford’s side were beaten by Wigan in Wollongong, Australia, before returning to England to lose at Castleford Tigers on Saturday.

They will be without captain Danny Houghton (calf) and star half-back Albert Kelly (concussion) for the game, but vice-captain Scott Taylor and second-rower Sika Manu are back.

However, Price says his side are under no illusions about how tough a prospect tomorrow’s game will be for his side.

“They are a quality football team. I haven’t read too much into their recent results,” he said.

“They’ve been a good football club that has been in Super League constantly. It’s important we build off our last two wins.

“If each individual player goes out there and does his job, it gives us every chance.”
