LOOKING through Warrington Guardian's World Cup archives this week we came across this belting picture of new Wolves recruit Bryson Goodwin.

Here, the centre is flying for New Zealand against Papua New Guinea during the 2013 tournament.

In 2018 he will hopefully be doing plenty of that for The Wire.

The 31-year-old, who can also play on the wing and at full back, is due in Warrington very shortly to start pre-season training with the new teammates he has that are not currently on international duty.

In an unusual signing process, Wolves paid Leigh Centurions a 'substantial fee' for the services of a man who never played for them.

Goodwin had originally signed for Leigh for 2018 but Wire's smart dealing, following the unexpected loss from the squad of Peta Hiku to New Zealand Warriors, means the former South Sydney Rabbitohs star will be in primrose and blue next season instead.

He has vast experience in the NRL having also played for Cronulla Sharks and Canterbury Bulldogs, while it was Rabbitohs that he won a Premiership in 2014 and a World Club Challenge the following year.

Goodwin has represented New Zealand 13 times but was not called on by Kiwis head coach and ex-Wolves centre David Kidwell for this year's event.
