WOVES full-back Stefan Ratchford accepts his team's performances are not good enough at the moment.

He said after the draw with depleted Wigan in Newcastle that improvement is needed quickly.

Warriors had only one recognised half back on the field for most of the game, put themselves 18-6 ahead with Liam Marshall's third try while his side were down to 12 men, and at the death came up with a killer play through skipper Sean O'Loughlin's boot to secure a draw.

"It's a bitter-sweet one," said Ratchford, who scored his first Super League try of the season to spark Wolves' comeback.

"To be 18-6 down early in the second half but to come back and put ourselves in a position to win the game was a really good effort from the boys. To concede last minute as well was really heartbreaking.

"Wigan were chasing the game and you have to expect anything from them.

"George Williams had a couple of runs on the play before and he was trying to get across the field and look for something.

"We probably expected it (high kick) from George to Joe Burgess, they've probably done that play a million times this year and probably scored a million tries.

"We've got to be aware it can come from anyone.

"There was a couple of us after the game saying a couple of us could have done this or could have done that.

"We're really disappointed to have conceded.

"We know we're not firing on all cyclinders. We've got a lot of improvement in not only our results but in our performances.

"Our performances are below our standards and we have to pick them up.

"Whatever team Wigan put out it's going to be a tough game and with us not being great at the moment from where we were we've got to take the positives and think that we've picked up a point rather than come away with none."
