WARRINGTON Wolves boss Tony Smith has named his first 19-man squad of the 20th Super League season.

Salford Red Devils visit The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday, kick off 3pm, and are set to face debuts from Warrington new boys Daryl Clark, Ashton Sims and Gary Wheeler.

Ben Harrison is named after his rib injury against Hull KR, and Kevin Penny is set to start on the wing too.

However, there is no place for Matty Russell, along with the injured Anthony England (quad) and Simon Grix (leg).

Wolves' head of coaching and rugby Smith said: "A home game is a great way to start for us; to really get our support going from the word go. Hopefully we can play with a style that warrants a big crowd. We have some exciting new players who have joined and some exciting current players, so it’s a good mix.

"Salford will certainly be a dangerous team once again. They’re fighting to get some momentum for the season. They’ll be keen for a strong start ut it’s more about us and what we need to do this year."

Wolves: Roy Asotasi, Ryan Atkins, Chris Bridge, Daryl Clark, Ben Currie, Ben Evans, Rhys Evans, Ben Harrison, Micky Higham, Chris Hill, James Laithwaite, Joel Monaghan, Richie Myler, Gareth O’Brien, Kevin Penny, Stefan Ratchford, Ashton Sims, Ben Westwood, Gary Wheeler.

Referee: Richard Silverwood.
